The Democratic Republic of Congo the Flag was adopted in 2006. The Flag of Congo is just like the previous flag except it didn’t have the six stars on the side that stand for the six provinces that were around during the time of independence. The bright blue stands for the mighty Congo River. The large star in the middle stands for a bright a bright future.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The Democratic Republic of the Congo is a different nation than the Republic of the Congo. The Democratic Republic of the Congo was formerly called Zaire (1971-1997).
